Birth time gives you your rising sign, house placements, and the Moon's exact degree — all genuinely useful. If you don't know it, the chart still computes sun and planet signs, just not houses or rising. Most birthplaces' civil records list birth time on the certificate.

Whole Sign houses by default — the traditional Hellenistic system where each whole sign equals one house. Simpler, more reliable for unknown-time births, and the one most modern Western astrologers prefer for natal interpretation.
